Dear Parents – Thanks for registering for the Body Contact Clinic on Monday –Friday, July,22-26 - 10:00 am -11:00 am at Benson Center Pad 2 .

Equipment – please check over your equipment and skates to ensure we are ready to go. Please bring your own water bottle.

Registration – we will have a table outside pad 2, please check in and pick up your jersey that is yours to keep.

Own The Ice Hockey is running a Body Contact Camp due to a high demand for both defense and forwards to be able to learn the proper techniques of using your body to protect the puck or separate an opposing player from it. In addition to this, our Body Contact Camp will teach players how to protect themselves on the ice while receiving body checks. Body positioning as well as 1 on 1 battles will be a key focus. Learning how to win stick battles is also a very important tool for any hockey player big or small. Puck protection, body positioning, and developing an awareness of your surroundings are very important elements of contact hockey.

This program is designed for both forwards and defense.

Ages -2009, 2010, 2011

Program Breakdown:

Battle Drills: 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3 in tight spaces, Staying low,

Body Contact Concepts: Angling, Loading & Unloading, Proper Routes to Puck, Puck Separation, Body Positioning, Rolling off checks

Situational Tactics: Eliminating Sticks, Danger areas, Pinning, Net front Battles, When to hit vs when to play the puck.
